Accommodation Options
Well done for saying YES to S.H.I.P.! We look forward to hosting you at Birdsong.
Inclusive of your $3200 USD fees is residential camping on the land. There is ample space to park a small campervan or put up a tent. (If you wish to utilize a larger caravan/campervan, then you have the option of parking it at the Wainui YMCA Campground — 1 km from Birdsong and only $15NZD/day. Please communicate with us about your vehicle size to determine if it will be appropriate for Birdsong)
Birdsong also has a few rooms for those that prefer a bed/shared room. There are two rustic off-grid cabins available: one triple share ($250USD) and one single ($350USD).
Also available off-site are house and room rentals in Wainui Valley and in nearby Akaroa township. Please note Akaroa is a 30 minute drive from Birdsong Retreat. If you would like to do a house-share, let us know ahead of time as February is high summer season.
When searching on any of the accommodation rental sites, make sure you pick “Wainui, Canterbury, New Zealand” (Wainui means ‘great water’ and there are lots of Wainui townships in New Zealand!)
