It’s a Girl!

Another babe has been born to my sister Joy and brother-in-law David.   Congratulations!

Haylie Gabriella Wygant came into this world at 9:45 pm, December 13, 2012, weighing a healthy 8 lbs 13.5 oz. and measuring 21” .

All vitals good.  Everyone fine.  Mom, dad, and new babe spending two nights in hospital while I put on my best Mary Poppins face and pull out every entertaining trick imaginable as I parent my 3 year old niece Sienna.   I made it through 36 hours without either one of us shedding a tear!

Today we went to the hospital to visit everyone and Sienna got to hold her little baby sister that she’s heard so much about.   Exciting!

And the rest of us gathered round to pose with Haylie too.

And so the circle comes fully around as the journey that I started in July comes to an end.   Life, death, and life.   The sadness of dad’s passing, the joy of a new life,  a legacy continues with this new addition to the family.       There is significance in her naming:   Haylie Gabriella – HG – Hugo Guidi – she will carry the initials of her papa.  And we also honor Father Gabriel who was a tremendous help to our father and our family during dad’s illness and afterwards.

A better Christmas gift we could not have asked for.     Blessings to all.
